I was excited and was looking forward to my day since I had a number of appointments, income opportunities, and business appointments as well.

After a few follow-ups and confirmations, all my business appointments were cancelled.

Hoping for a great turn of events, I was optimistic that my last “income appointment” would push through but on the last minute, my contact cancelled since he could not pay the down payment for our deal. To put icing on the cake, my other partner told me that his payment will be delayed since their deposit box has been robbed.

It was still 4 o’clock in the afternoon but I was already stressed-out and frustrated. Feeling pretty tired that none of my plans for the day pushed through. I spent a lot of money on my taxi rides, coffee, food, and etc… But my day wasn’t as productive as I expected and planned it to be.

At 5 o’clock, I felt my temper slowly steaming out. I turned on my laptop thinking that maybe the internet can somehow help to make me feel better, but again, even the internet disrupted my plans.

Finally, having felt enough frustration, I decided to stay still and be silent; listening to the voice of my heart and soul…

And in that moment of silence, i heard a tiny whisper, saying, “Stop focusing on the 10%”….

And with that, I remembered that yes, I truly was focusing on the 10% of my life. I was focusing on the things that didn’t turn out to be good. I focused on the challenges and forgot that today, 90% of my life is really blessed.

First and foremost, I am alive and healthy. I am able to kiss my lovely baby and wife with smile on their faces. I had a very inspiring prayer time. I have been earning pretty well for 4 straight days from Monday to Thursday (whoever said that money only comes to them every payday 15th & 30th is greatly mistaken). My family is healthy as well. I am currently drinking a delicious coffee in one of the best coffee shops in the country (while others contend themselves with 3in1s..hehehe), etc…

In my moment of frustration and disappointment, I completely forgot that on the other side of the my life, more blessings abound, and the current challenges I am facing covered just tiny-itsy-bitsy percentage of my life.

So if you are currently facing a problem right now, try looking at the other side of your life. You will soon find out that 90% of our lives are full of blessings. Try it, it really is true!=)

"Relaxing At Home On A Weekday"

Today I would to share something very special to you. Which is the best benefits of being “unemployed”.

Most people say that is the freedom of your time and schedule and when I stopped working, I actually felt that it was the reason. But now I have realized the ultimate benefit. And that is the time to really know your self. More specifically, to connect with your soul.

Since I “fired my boss”, life started to be a lot of fun, inspiring, and meaningful. Before I used to think that the reason that I left my job was because I wanted to be rich and free, but I now finally realize the desires of my heart. Especially the desires of my soul.

I always seem to have this emptiness in my heart. I taught that it because I was not “earning enough” or because I was assigned far away from Cebu.

But when I started to think, both money and freedom was never an issue. The issues that I had were actually within myself.

Today I realize, the best benefits really of being an entrepreneur is having the time to really reflect, think, and converse with you soul several times in a day.

The amazing part is when you pray to God, you no longer pray as superficial person but as a soul fully aware of the great being that God created you for.

Honestly, I’m still new to this “connecting with your soul” stuff. But daily I am slowly connecting with him, one day we will be both one.

If you were like me before, somehow discontented, start questioning yourself and reflect. Sooner you too will be align and “touch-base” with your soul.

Let me share to you a brief story of my life.

For the past year and 3 months, I ventured into a “new life”. From being a high paid employee in an international company to becoming entrepreneur.

With my little savings and a pregnant wife, I sucked up all the courage and inspiration I could; submitted my resignation and felt that I just made the best decision in my life.

So I started out with my knowledge in sales and little idea in internet marketing and ventured out in the world of business. Joined some network marketing businesses. Did some fantastic events. Tried to do real estate. Tried selling cars. I even sold refrigerated meats like Tocino, Chorizo, and the like.

Eventually….

I ended up tired, and confused. After all my ventures, nothing seem to really work.

Sure, I earn some money here and there. I was even able to add a few savings every month in my Stock Market and Mutual Funds portfolio.

But I was tired as a Carabao (commonly known as a cow). And never had the fulfillment that I thought I would gain if I left my job.

Fast forward to October of 2011….

I am back to playing in a band and enjoyed playing music; had generous time with my baby and wife everyday; continued with my financial consultancy and advising; launch my Stock Market coaching program; started to speak again;

Today, December 31, 2011.

I’m so filled with happiness.

I realized that solution to each persons “struggle” with money. It was the main reason why I was unhappy for the first 3 quarters of entrepreneur life this year 2011.

I pursued money and wanted to have lots of money. Once I started with a business venture I always wanted to earn money – right away.

Which was why I was tired and felt “unsuccessful”.

I was CHASING MONEY like a fish chasing bait. Not realizing that I was actually chasing a trap. Most “gurus” call this the money trap.

Today though, I have finally learned my lesson.

Most of us chase money, thinking that this will make us happy. Saying “if only I had much money” I would be really happy. So, we all work like a horse or do business like a horse to gain as much money as we can. Then after we accumulated money, we focus on doing what we love.

The usual formula:

Happiness = Lots of money

But after all my trial and error I finally realized.

Happiness = Pursuing your passion and earning money from it.

Now that’s the right formula.

I’m sorry but all my other post do not compare to “secret” that I am about to give you know.

Here it is:

If you want to be happy and rich, pursue your passion first and money will follow. It does not matter what your passion is, do it now.

I’m not talking about vague passions that you do like “sleeping” or “shouting”. What I mean was your God given talents in which will bless people around you. Now, that is the kind of passion you should pursue.

In my case, I have always loved music. Now I am back to playing music and I enjoy doing it and most especially being paid to do it as well. I am even planning to open a school to teach music. Also an online music tutorial. A sounds and lights rental system. A production team. And teaching and talking more on stage. That are the things which I really enjoy and love.

This 2012, I will scrap all my other activities that will not give me joy and that is not connected to my passions.

I hope you take my advice seriously.

Follow your passions first, and money will truly follow.

As I reflect on what he said, I realize the validity of this phrase. In my life, I have never really achieve anything unless I actually did it.

In one very concrete example, in my life right now as a entrepreneur. When I was still an employee, I was always pondering in “owning my time” and being able to do the things that I really wanted to do.

I would day dream while in the office. Driving my service car in the company. Even in preparing my reports for our monthly operations review.

You know why?

Because, in my subconcious mind, I always wanted to try to be an entrepreneur/businessman but never really did it.

I kept on thinking of how it would be, instead of really doing it.

Only when I really had the courage to submit my resignation and move on to become a real entrepreneur that I realized that trying is actually not doing anything at all.

Once “did it”, it was all over. It was it. My entire life changed 180 degrees because I actually quit my job. I stopped complaining and day dreaming, and DID the necessary action.

I copy the amazing phrase of the world renown brand Nike – “JUST DO IT”. Just do it and you’ll get the real results that you want.

Yup, that’s me above. That is a picture of me holding two checks which I earn as a financial advisor. Actually, it is not much. As a financial advisor in IMG, my usual weekly income ranges from 5-11k a week. Compared to the earnings of my Multi-Millionaire friends and mentors my weekly income in IMG is a measly.

But you I would just like to really emphasize that this type of income that I earn in IMG is PASSIVE INCOME.

You just close the deal once, and as long as the investors continues to be loyal to his periodical investments you continue to earn. You earn while you sleep. While drinking coffee. While playing with my baby-daughter. While at Cebu Ayala Mall.

What’s great with being a financial advisor in IMG is that I do not only benefit from my earnings, but the continuous financial education and entrepreneurial training as well. Now, that’s more than just value for money. That is a lifetime jewel that can be turn into wisdom till the next generations to come.

Most forms of business need your time at the start, but it is important that the business you are venturing is something that you can duplicate and delegate in the future.
